FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
About ReliefForPunjab
Why does ReliefForPunjab exist and what exactly do you stand for?
ReliefForPunjab exists as a long-term initiative to support communities in Punjab affected by floods and hardship.
While many influencers, organizations, and celebrities may appear during the peak of disaster for publicity, our mission
is to be present long after the attention fades. We step in when others move on, providing sustained help where it is truly needed.
Are you a charity or nonprofit organization registered with the government?
No. ReliefForPunjab is not a charity or nonprofit. We operate as a for-profit business initiative.
This gives us flexibility to allocate contributions across relief, operations, logistics, technology, and profit without the restrictions
imposed on charities. All funds are managed at our sole discretion.
Why are you structured as a business rather than a charity or NGO?
Charities are highly regulated and cannot use contributions for operations and growth in the same way businesses can.
By operating as a business, we maintain transparency about our profit model while ensuring we can sustain, scale, and
deliver long-term support for Punjab.
Who decides how the funds are ultimately used once I contribute?
All funds are managed exclusively by ReliefForPunjab. We alone decide how, when, and where contributions are used.
This may include direct relief, operational support, or future initiatives. Contributors acknowledge this structure by participating.
Will ReliefForPunjab always focus only on Punjab?
Punjab is our starting point and primary mission. However, in the future we may expand to other regions or causes at our discretion.
If we do so, our contributors will be informed through updates and news posts.
Contributions & Payments
How do I know my payment is safe and processed securely?
All transactions are processed using Shopify’s encrypted checkout system and trusted payment providers.
Your payment details are never stored by us. You will receive an automatic receipt via email after every successful contribution.
Are contributions treated as donations for tax purposes?
No. Contributions are not tax-deductible because ReliefForPunjab is not a registered charity.
You will receive a standard business receipt only. This receipt cannot be used for tax-deduction claims in any country.
Can I request a refund if I change my mind after paying?
No. All contributions are final and non-refundable. Once processed, payments cannot be reversed under any circumstances.
This policy is necessary because funds may be allocated immediately to relief or operational expenses.
Do you accept international contributions, and in what currencies?
Yes. We accept contributions worldwide. Shopify automatically converts and displays contributions in your local currency when possible,
but all final transactions are settled through Shopify’s payment processors.
Can I contribute monthly or set up recurring support?
Not at this time, but we are planning to launch a recurring contribution option in the future so supporters can give consistently.
Use of Funds
Do you guarantee that my contribution will go directly to flood victims?
No. While a portion of contributions may support families affected by floods, we do not guarantee any specific use or outcome.
Contributions may also support operations, outreach, logistics, advertising, or profit as needed.
How do you decide when to deliver relief in Punjab?
We act when there are sufficient funds and when conditions allow effective aid. For example, we may wait until
floodwaters recede so that food kits, supplies, or other relief can be delivered responsibly.
Why do you allow profit as part of this model?
Because transparency is central to our mission. Many influencers and celebrities use disasters for publicity,
often without disclosing their financial benefit. We openly acknowledge that part of contributions support profit,
ensuring long-term sustainability and growth while still enabling us to provide real aid when possible.
Do you provide financial breakdowns or audited reports?
No. We are not legally required to produce charity-style audits or reports.
We may share updates, stories, and impact highlights, but we do not publish itemized breakdowns of funds.
What if I disagree with how you use the funds?
By contributing, you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which clearly state that funds are
managed at our sole discretion. Disagreement with allocation does not entitle you to refunds or claims.
Aid & Impact
When will families in Punjab receive aid from ReliefForPunjab?
Only when funds are sufficient and conditions allow safe and effective delivery.
Relief is not immediate, and we do not operate as an emergency service.
We prioritize long-term stability over rushed, unsustainable interventions.
Who exactly may benefit from this initiative?
Families and communities whose homes, crops, or livelihoods have been disrupted by floods and related hardships.
Aid distribution is discretionary and not guaranteed for every household.
Do you provide medical or agricultural support?
Possibly. Depending on resources, funds may support basic medical kits, food, crop recovery, or livestock survival.
These decisions are case-specific and at our discretion.
Will ReliefForPunjab continue supporting victims after the media stops covering floods?
Yes. Unlike influencers or organizations who may show up during peak disaster coverage, our goal is to remain active
after attention fades. This is when families often need the most help but receive the least attention.
Transparency & Legal Position
What laws apply to ReliefForPunjab?
ReliefForPunjab operates under the business laws of Ontario, Canada.
We comply with standard tax and commercial requirements, not charity or nonprofit regulations.
Can contributors take legal action if they are dissatisfied?
No. Our Terms of Service make clear that all contributions are final, non-refundable, and discretionary.
By paying, you agree to these conditions and waive the right to bring legal claims regarding fund allocation.
Why do you say “contribute” instead of “donate”?
The term “donate” implies a registered charity, which we are not.
“Contribute” reflects our model as a private, for-profit initiative.
Do you provide tax receipts?
No. Contributions are not tax-deductible, and no donation receipts are issued.
Standard payment receipts are provided for transaction confirmation only.
Future Plans
Will ReliefForPunjab expand beyond Punjab in the future?
Yes. We may apply contributions to other causes, disasters, or regions depending on our growth and discretion.
Punjab remains the foundation, but our vision is broader long-term impact.
What are your long-term goals as a business fundraiser?
To sustain operations, grow capacity, and provide long-term support to overlooked communities.
We aim to remain present when others leave and to expand initiatives responsibly.
Could my contribution be held for future use rather than immediate relief?
Yes. Funds may be carried forward and applied later when conditions allow, or when strategic opportunities arise
to maximize impact and sustainability.
